  • Phoenix to Mesh / Alembic

    Hello,
we are trying to do a keyframe animation on top of a Phoenix Sim.
As the sim is pretty heavy, we cannot scrub the timeline
so it would be nice to bake a simplified version of the liquid mesh.

is it possible to bake liquid simulation meshes to alembic?
so far we only found this hack
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYFKzXGLrdA

    thanks for support

I dont find an option to set the level detail of the generated Maya mesh.
is there an otption to make the Maya mesh more/less detailed?
        thank you

Ah, negative, no detail reduction for the mesh yet. Will add a vote to it in our task list....

Thank you - generating the alembic takes a while, but loading and previewing it as a Vray Proxy is pretty fast
