  • What do I need to do / change with this to get a better waterfall effect

What I am producing is at the top, what I am aiming for is at the bottom.. a LOOOOONG way off, what do you suggest I change.

The scene I have is an 18 metre high wall, so there is enough size to get a decent amount of foam and splash into the water.

Having a look at what I have done thus far, what should I tweak?

I might start by modifying the geometry a little to get a few independent falls, like your reference has.

Possibly also add some rocks underneath the falls to cause some parts to bounce out farther

It feels like maybe your water has too much forward velocity, or the scale is off or the gravity is too low. The water shoots outward quite a bit, rather than falling down. Possible in reality, yes, if that water is moving very fast. But it feels like it needs to fall down more.

Thanks, I have a whole heap of rocks at the end to break up the water but yeh I think you are correct about the velocity. I'll load it back up and see what I have done wrong there.

I mucked around with the velocity and have something better now, just don't have the volume I would like to have.

I see what you mean about the volume. I wonder if you should increase the splash threshold, but you do need more volume. I like the broken up falls.
