  • simple gas following orbiting particles

    Hi

I'm new to fluid simulation. I'm coming from Afterburn.

I have a torus of PFlow particles orbiting around a centre point. I need some gas to follow the particles round, changing form slightly but not chaotically, kind of like a vortex.
How do I do this? If it was Afterburn, I'd just reference the PFlow system and animate some parameters. How can I do something equivalent in PhoenixFD?

    Thanks
    Mark

    Hey, start here: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/pages/vi...ageId=47534546

Some of these tutorials and example scenes should give you some inspiration and some of them contain setups close to the one you are after.

Make sure to check this one https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...rticle+Shading
if you already have a ready particle system, depending on the effect you want, you might even skip the simulation and just pick the particles into Phoenix's particle shader.

    Cheers!

      Thank you!
I'll take a look at the particle shader.
