As in the thread title. I've animated the offset but I cannot see any change. The reason I need to do this is that I'm trying to give the impression of flowing water. Rate of change only changes the individual peaks/troughs of the shader not the overall flow or movement in a specific direction.

Does the OceanTexture support animating the offset?

Hey, you need to raise the Velocity Coherence, check here: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...enixFDOceanTex
Also, check some workflow tips for setting up the ocean texture with a viewport preview here: https://youtu.be/gE5huS1oajg?t=428Svetlin Nikolov, Ex Phoenix team lead

Sure, no probs, the ocean texture can drive the simulation when plugged into a wave force, but can just displace a surface as well - and the pure ocean and viewport preview can be used to quickly see what's happening when you tweak the params of the texture.Svetlin Nikolov, Ex Phoenix team lead

Thanks. But, regarding my original question. Can the offset be used to animate the entire shader in a direction?Last edited by stevesideas; 24-02-2021, 12:02 PM.

You can just use a simulator in pure ocean mode as a preview for the texture while setting it up and then hide it delete it.
As for the offset - sure - you can animate the offset, as well as the tiling and the angle. You can lower or zero the Rate of Change and the ocean will just slide in one direction The Simulator's pure ocean preview will show you in the viewport how the ocean looks when you change these.Last edited by Svetlin.Nikolov; 24-02-2021, 12:33 PM.Svetlin Nikolov, Ex Phoenix team lead
