  • Motion blur is smeary in Alembic Mesh export in Maya rendered with Redshift

I've exported the Phoenix water sim as Alembic mesh with the velocity color channel, but when I render it in Redshift (in Maya), it is just a giant smeary blur. I increased the steps to .25 but it still yields the same result. Would checking the Prevent Moblur Self Intersect box before export help? Any thoughts on how to fix this?

    Hey,

You will need to reduce the motion blur multiplier by 24 for rendering with Redshift and it should look better. Just reduce the motion blur mult to 0.04 in the Phoenix rendering rollout before exporting the alembic and then it should render correctly.

    Cheers!
