  • Phoenix FD & VRay GPU

    Hi

Does Phoenix FD work 100% with VRay GPU?

I downloaded and ran the simulation for the sample scene "Ink in Water" then rendered it with VRay Cpu. When I changed it to GPU, it rendered blank.

The units are set to centimetres with 1 centimetre equalling 5 cm, why is this?

    Thanks,
    N

    Hey,

The Points Render Mode of the Particle Shader is not supported yet on V-Ray GPU, but we are working on it.

You can find more information about the supported V-Ray features on this page: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...atures+Support

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for letting me know Slavina, do you have an idea of when the Point Render Mode of the Particle Shader will be implemented?

        Hey,

Will add one more vote for it in our system and will update this thread once we have more information.

        Cheers!

          Hello,

As a workaround you can try using the bubbles mode in the Particle shader (just play around with the size) and set the bounces to 0 in the bubbles settings.

Another option would be to use the V-Ray Instancer and instance a small sphere over the Phoenix particles. This way you will be able to control the shading of the particles through a V-Ray material and get the look you're after.

          Hope this helps!
