Hey all,
In today's Max and Maya nightlies (https://nightlies.chaosgroup.com/) it's now possible to load PRT files into the Simulator, without the need for a PRT Reader node.
This allows to:
- Use PRT data with the preview auto reduction, preview coloring by velocity, age, etc, and slice preview
- Use Time Bend controls to change the playback speed or animate the playback of PRTs
- Plug the PRT particles into a particle texture
- it does not support the PRT Reader node so far
- PRT import in Maya was not possible so far
- no PRT Reader there yet - Flip Y/Z axes of the PRT particles
- Cache info box with particle numbers and supported channels
- The standalone preview can show PRT as well and now you can associate it with PRT caches under Windows as well
- The cache converter can convert from PRT to AUR and VDB
Here is a quick video of how this works:
Cheers!
