  • speed of saving vdb files on the network

    hey

Is it normal for the simulation files in vdb format to write significantly slower on the network than locally? I will add that if I save aur files on the network, they save at the same speed as locally. I tested it on a simulation that takes 883MB as vdb and 1.11GB in aur format.

I noticed that a simulation that takes ~ 1 minute per frame needs another minute to save. This happens at a very low speed on the network ~ 150mb / s for vdb but already 2.6 gb / s for aur.

    Regards.
    T.

    Thanks for the report!

Will check it, and meanwhile maybe you can workaround it by saving aur files and then using the cache converter tool to make vdbs out of them?
