  • Exporting a V-Ray Proxy including Splash/Mist

    Hi There,
I'd like to export a Phoenix water simulation at a single frame in time to a V-Ray Proxy and send it to somebody for rendering in a still. If it was just the water that would be fine, but it also contains splashes/mist. When I create the proxy, these get lost, leaving me with just a water mesh. Is there any way to do this currently? I suppose that what I am asking is how do I convert splashes/mist from particles to meshes?

    Best regards

    Hey,

Check this How to video about exporting Phoenix caches to an Alembic file and then loading them through a V-Ray Proxy - https://docs.chaos.com/display/PHX4M...20to%20Alembic

    Hope this helps!

One more thing to watch out for - if you are using 3ds max's own abc export/import, beware that it does export particles and they are visible when you load the abc through a vrayproxy, but 3ds Max's own importer does not see them.
