  • How to add realistic dirt into water? -> rendered water for nature scene is unnatural clear as if coming from a water tap

    Hello,
I have a nature situation with large amounts of water are falling/floating down a mountain.
The simulation is pretty good, but the water looks crystal clear as it was coming from a water tap.

Could you please give advice, how to get natural dirt into the water?
Some rivers are even green-grey and not transparent. And they carry many little objects like debris from plants.

    Any helpful tip is appreciated

    Hey,

You can experiment with the Fog Color and Depth options found in the water material's menu to achieve a more interesting look of the water. For more information about the Fog, check this page - https://docs.chaos.com/display/VMAX/VRayMtl

As for the objects carried away by the water, you can use the Phoenix Active Body Solver. By default, all geometries in the scene are Solid and act as obstacles to the Phoenix fluid simulation, but objects that are selected as Active Bodies can be pushed by the fluid or can float over the liquid surface, unlike Solid obstacles which stay in place and just obstruct the movement of the fluid. For more information about the Active Body Solver, check this page - https://docs.chaos.com/display/PHX4M...ve+Body+Solver.
In addition, here is an Active Bodies Guide, which provides some useful tips for working with Active Bodies - https://docs.chaos.com/display/PHX4M...e+Bodies+Guide

    Hope this helps!
