Hello everyone, I have a problem with my Epyc 7702p (64 Core \ 128 thread) when simulating PhoenixFd it does not use all cores, but uses 50% of the cores. Can I solve this problem? (sorry for my poor language)
thanks
I believe this CPU is using NUMA, which is, to put it simply, very bad for simulations. Check the "Hardware Advice for Faster Simulating" here https://docs.chaos.com/display/PHX4M...d+Installation (it's also a sticky topic here in the forums, check "Recommended Simulation hardware").
Lastly, there is a NUMA Nodes field in the Simulation rollout of the Simulator, check here: https://docs.chaos.com/display/PHX4M...oke+Simulation. Using just one NUMA node could sometimes make the simulation even faster than using all nodes, so try this and see if it makes a difference for your scenes.
Thanks for your help.
Now I download the latest version and try if the problem is solved. Today I realized that even during the calculation of the simulation render, the cpu does not go to 100%. Meter in a normal Vray render, it goes to 100%. Thanks and good job
Note: I have to admit that my CPU, Epyc7702P, gives me various problems, even in the benchmarks it has strange results, so maybe the problem is not the software but the hardware
