  • How to slow down a simulation with keeping same look? (sim uses 1 step per frame)

    Hello again,

I have a simulation, which is looking good with 1step per frame.
With 2 steps per frame it changes the look (I had posted this here already, the support told me, that inevitably more particles were generated)

So when I'm using now time scale to make it slowly - for example time scale 0,2 - it will be the same look like a simulation with 5 steps per frame - is that right? (that's at least what I've learned)
Is there a way to keep the look but to get a slow motion? Because 1 step per frame is of course the smallest possible number in that field.

Maybe there is a way with resimulation?

    Thanks!

Sure, you can just go to the Input rollout and change the Play Speed. Resimulation is needed only for Fire/smoke sims.

Here is a page explaining all scenarios: https://docs.chaos.com/display/PHX4MAX/Tips+and+Tricks (the Slowing Down a Simulation, Animating the Time-Scale, etc. section).

Also make sure to check the info on the Play Speed option https://docs.chaos.com/display/PHX4MAX/FireSmoke+Input - it requires you to simulate with some particle channels enabled first, so you'd get smooth slow down.

    Cheers!
