  • Running multiple simulations consecutively

    Hi,

I have a scene with a few different phoenix simulations running at one (fountains) which will then be shared with the rest of the team once they are done.
Is there any way to queue these up so that I only have to hit the start button once
e.g. hit start, sim 1 calculates, once sim 1 is finished sim 2 starts

I'm aware that they could each individually be sent to a render farm via deadline to simulate, but unfortunately we are using Pulze Render Manager which does not yet support this.

    Cheers

    Hey, sure!

If you are in Max, then go to the Simulation rollout of the first simulator in the sequence, enable Use Script and click Edit...

    There you have this:

Name:	sim next.png
Views:	211
Size:	10.3 KB
ID:	1150575

And by deleting the /* at line 24, you will be able to start the next simulator once this one finishes.

You can do this for all simulators in the sequence.

In Maya, there is a different way to connect simulators in a sequence:

    Hope this helps, cheers!
