  • Moving start point of cached fire sim

Hi, I have already saved and cached a fire simulation that runs from 0 - 1680 frames.

I want to shift the start point so it starts reading the cache from frame 200 instead of 0.

So 3dsmax frame 0 will equal cache frame 200 - I am aware it will cut short at 1480 frames. but that doesn't matter.

    Is this possible? and how?

    Thanks

Sure, in the Input rollout, set the Cache Origin to 200. Check this page for more info and some graphics as well: https://docs.chaos.com/display/PHX4MAX/FireSmoke+Input

In short, you can think of it like this: "Put cache #(Cache Origin) on timeline frame #(Timeline Origin)". This means that if you set the Timeline Origin to -200, it should do the same thing

    Hope this helps, cheers!
