  • Phoenix smoke colour to TYFLOW particles

    Hi
as title suggests, can I get the phoenix smoke shader to shade tyflow particles the same way (birth fluid setup etc), only need to get for a single frame
, or get a PRT loader to get the same shading

    cheers

    Hello,

If I'm understanding correctly that you're looking to shade tyFlow particles with Phoenix, then you can use the Phoenix Particle Shader to do this.

The Particle Shader has different modes that let you achieve various effects. For example, if your goal is to achieve a more smoke-like effect, you could set the Particle Shader to the Points mode (which can work well for a thin smoke effect and others), or you can use the Fog mode to voxelize the particles (for example, this mode is often used to create a foggy "mist" type of appearance). Then you can further tweak the Particle Shader settings to get a variety of customized results.

Here is an example from the Docs where the Particle Shader is used to shade Phoenix Drag particles, to create an Ink in Water effect using the Points mode:

    https://docs.chaos.com/display/PHX4M...nes-Inkinwater

There is also a Phoenix cigarette smoke preset, which shades Drag Particles as well, and creates a smoke effect using the Points mode:

For shading tyFlow particles, the concept is similar, you'll just be picking tyFlow particles to shade instead of Drag Particles. As I recall, you also enable the particle interface in tyFlow, in order to be able to add the tyFlow particles to your Phoenix Particle Shader.

I hope that is helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions

Have you checked out the redefinefx tutorials? Might be something they have done.
