  • Standalone Sim

Hey, I was trying to use the new(er) standlone sim option with a scene that has a basic plane emitter with a PHX Fire Source (emitting both drag particles and smoke) and a PHXTurbulence. The drag particles are being simulated as though there is no smoke. I mean I am not getting any fludi motion on them, and the smoke channel doesn't seem to be simulated, and it is running VERY fast, like it's not doing the smoke for some reason.

Might there be some obvious reason for this?

Looks like we currently have this installed:
    Phoenix 5.01.01 Nightly, Build ID: 2022081531576 for 3ds Max 2021 from Aug 15 2022

    Hey,

It seems to work here with latest Phoenix 5 Nightly and the nightly build you shared.

It is important to mention that it is better to use closed geometries - using a plane can lead to incorrect results. Can you apply a Shell modifier to the plane and see if that helps?
One more thing to check is if the simscene name is starting with the letter "n" or "t". We had issues related to these letters that should be fixed in the latest Phoenix 5 nightly builds.

Also, Phoenix Forces and Textures are not yet supported in simscenes.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I ended up using a different solution for the shot (client wanted something completely different), but this is great info. It could have been the open plane and the forces
