  • Easiest way to fill a glass with ice in it with still water

What is the easiest way to take a glass with ice in it, and fill it up about 90% of the way with liquid to then add other particles effects?

With the initial fill option the liquid falls down a lot (like about half its volume), and I am then trying to add liquid with an emitter to fill it back up. There has go to be some easier way, no? I need to get the liquid to a settled, level state as quickly as possible.

I do not need the ice to move. I just need liquid in the glass around the ice (with proper refraction).

    Thoughts?

    Thanks.

    Hey,

You can check out our "Using Initial Liquid Fill with Containers" tutorial - https://docs.chaos.com/display/PHX4M...ith+Containers.

In this tutorial, we are creating an Initial Fill Geometry and enable the Initial Liquid Fill option for it from the Chaos Phoenix Properties. This will fill the geometry with liquid at the very beginning of the simulation. Then, we are creating a Simulator that encompasses the fill object. It's important to mention that you will need to experiment with the Grid Resolution and Steps Per Frame options in order to achieve smoother results.

Also, you could check out the Potential Issues section - https://docs.chaos.com/display/PHX4M...otentialIssues, where we are explaining how to avoid some potential problems.

We also have a Rendering section - https://docs.chaos.com/display/PHX4M...iquidRendering, where you could see what settings could be used in this kind of setup.

    Hope this helps!
