  • Pool water effects

    Hello all

I have been using Phoenix fd ocean texture for my water for a long time, they look nice for stills and animations, however I would like to go to the extra mile adding some underwater jets effects to the wáter and whirlwind effects as you can see on the images and video attached. I was wondering if it could be achieved with Phoenix simulations or if it is better making it with some kind of displacement maps such as the ocean texture that i have been using.

I would be very grateful if anybody could give me a clue about how to make it.

    Thank you

Do you need it for an animation or a still image?

For a still image is quite easy, I usually draw some displacement maps and mix them until I get the needed effect.
I start from a simple base of waves and add detail from there (using displacement or geometry deformers), it can be anything from the ripple of a floater, some noise to simulate the water jet or other effects, here are a few example.
