  • Possible to have more than one object as Birth Volume for Foam and Splashes

I am doing som river FX and I am looking for a way to select more than one object as Birth Volum for my Foam and splash particles.
I have some stones and also a animated charachter in the water...
The stones I can combine in maya but I also need to have the charachter body as my birth volume...

I tried making a set an add the stones and body but it seems like the Phoenix Birth Volume only chooses the first object in my set.

Are there any solution to be able to choose more than one object as Birth Volume - Im using Maya 2022

    Hey,

Adding multiple objects as birth volumes is still in the to do list. Adding one more vote for it.

For now the only option is to merge the different objects as a single mesh.

Great - I hope this will happen soon.

Hmm on some tests I have - the merge to single mesh works fine for static objects but it seems like when I combine a animated body with static mesh like stones things starts to behave crasy in my sim.

hmm, can you show us how it looks? Could it be that the animated geometry has open edges or overlapping faces?
