wetmap particles not generating

  • wetmap particles not generating

    Not sure if I've accidentally disabled something necessary here, but I'm getting zero wetmap particles generated.
    There doesn't seem to be mention of other necessary settings in the manual. What could be causing it?

    Hey,

    Just make sure that the Wetting is enabled in the Dynamics rollout and that the objects that need to be wet are solid and have their "Wetting" checkbox enabled in the right-click Chaos Phoenix properties menu.

        I spoke too soon.
        The particles are being generated, but it's not creating a particle system that I can select in the PhoenixFDParticle Texture.

          Hey,

          Is the WetMap Particle System Export enabled? You can check it from the Output rollout -> Output Particle Channels -> Select a Particle System -> WetMap -> enable the Export checkbox.

              Did a simple test. Not getting a system generated with this either.

                Hey Mark,

                Just go over in the Phoenix Particle Texture, click over the Source for the Particle system button and pick the Phoenix simulator - it will prompt you to choose which system you wish to use and then you can pick the Wetmap.

                This way it works on my side using your scene.

                  Thanks.
                  I got it working, but here I had to select the simulator, which brought up another dialogue that didn't contain the wetmap, so I selected the simulator again.
                  Once the simulator was in the ParticleTexture slot though, the wetmap appeared in the max scene and I was able to go into the texture again and select that this time.

                    Ahaa - maybe you picked the liquid simulator before the simulation was ran at least one time. If this is the case the Wetmap particle system is not created yet so you can't really pick it unless you sim a few frames first.
