Is there a good way to make ocean waves get larger as the sea floor below rises to become a beach, as happens in nature? I'm finding they get smaller instead. I know that I can probably fake it by pulling the water with animated hovering Body Force objects, but I would rather make it happen with natural physics if I can. I am tasked with creating an explainer video about storm surges.

    Thanks.

Hi. The trick is a good geometry for the seafloor. Have some noise and variation on it, for it to push and compress the flip fluid and create nice different waves.

I don't think adding complexity to the sea floor would have much effect. I think the problem is that the PhoenixFDOceanTex works from the surface down, when what I want is force waves coming from below.

.... or probably more accurately that PhoenixFDOceanTex doesn't see geometry. It simply perturbs the particles. I see that it has a "Displacement Scaling" slot though. I'll play with that.

I was basically able to approximate realism with an animated waving plane underneath. I need to refine it some more, but I'm mostly there.
