  • Blending paint of different colors (One grid)

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to blend paint of different colors in one grid and render using Otoy Octane like in the image attached? Thank you!

    Hey,

It's up to the Octane devs to add support for the Phoenix Grid and Particle Textures that will allow you to read and blend the color data.

Otherwise you can check a sample V-Ray scene here - https://docs.chaos.com/display/PHX4M...ThreeMaterials
But note that without the Octane support for the Phoenix textures it won't work with Octane rendering.

Just saw that the Octane team implemented it from version 2023.1.2 - 14.8 and 2024.1 - 15.03

More info can be found here - https://render.otoy.com/forum/viewto...p?f=27&t=82907

      Cheers!

Thanks. Do you guys support wetmap RGB like different color paint splashed on walls and gets mixed? In cotane wetmaps are black. And wetmaps have no RGB output. Can we have sticky liquid as mesh and not as particles?

The support for the RGB channel for the wetmap particles is still in the to do list. Adding one more vote for it.

What do you mean by sticky liquid as mesh?

We want to simulate paint splashed at the walls. So I know how to mesh wetmap particles but I wish for now wetmaps can at least carry the color information of splashed liquid. Hopefully you can release wetmap RGB soon. Thank you

Or at least add an option of wetmap as a mesh like in was in phoenix 2
