  • Multiple fountains

    Hello,

What would be the best approach to drive hundreds of fountain nozzles (its simple planes) outgoing velocity parameter with one liquid source apart from prerendered grascale image sequences projected back to the source? I tried distance maps but I can't restrict the field of view to Z axis. If the neighbour helper is closer to the nozzle it will take that value.
I was thinking to connect with tyFlow but I can't read custom properties. The readable channels like Age, Speed, Velocity etc is not helping me because the nozzles are not animated. I was able to add a grayscale color with tyFlow but I could't use that as a texture or map without rendering the sequences and project back.

Thank you for your ideas in advance!

    Kind regards,
    Zsombor

    Hello,

Connecting the emission to some particle system is a good solution. The other thing I can think of is to map the outgoing force with some world space noise.
If I understand the setup that you are describing, maybe something like this would help:

Please let me know if that's helpful.

Thank you, Zdravko for the file. Basically, this is the setup but I have to do a premade choreography so adjusting each nozzle's outgoing velocities. Right now I'm testig to use multiple liquid sources (roughly 100) and wire parameter it to particle positions and use height as velocity. What I noticed is that pressure is not linear so I have to adjust this in wire parameter.
      Kind regards,

I think it is still doable by masking the source emission. You can have a video in there as well.

Actually this method can work in some of my fountains. Thank you for the help Zdravko!
