    Hi, I'm having difficulty getting the Inherit TexUVW from Geometry to work within Maya

    I basically have an animated texture black and white on my emitter which is just a box with Uvs all setup.
    This box emits liqiud for one frame and i want the texture on the emit box to carry over onto the mesh of the liquid.

    I have followed the documentation as best i can, so i have the Inherit TexUVW checked on in the liquid source, in the Simulator i have the Grid Texture UVW checked on in the Output tab etc
    How can i see if this is working in the viewport of Maya, i cant seem to get the shader and Uvs onto the mesh and see it in the viewport.

    Can you help with the correct process to get this to work in the viewport but also at render time please

    Hello,

    I'm attaching a sample scene which is using TexUVW channel in Maya - I hope it will be useful.

    Unfortunately at the moment there is no way to preview the UVs in the Maya viewport - you will have to make a render in order to verify it's working correctly.

      Hey Georgi,
      Thanks for getting back to me, i had a look at the file you sent.

      I can see how this works in vray, i had things setup in the same way which is good to know, but i need to export out the mesh so it can be rendered in arnold/redshift. When i change the mesh to maya mesh and render the texture using an arnold shader it doesnt seem to be working?

      Shame it doesnt work in the viewport as it would be good to have ability to see the update live without having to render, would make life a lot easier!

        Can you send us the scene so that we can check it out? You can send it via support.chaos.com (submit a request button at top right).

        As for the viewport preview - it's in the to do list already.

          Sorry for late reply to your message

          Unfortunatly i dont have a scene available but i took the scene you sent above and tried to get this working.

          I basically swopped out the materials to arnold ones, i also made sure all the correct exports were on for the Grid Texture UVW in the outputs of the dynamics etc
          When switching to Maya mesh and applying the arnold shaders it renders pink where its not picking anything up??

          I cant seem to get this process working with Arnold and alembic the mesh with Uv?​

          What i need to be able to do is have a liquid sim, lets say a simple splash, with uvs, exported out to alembic or live in maya but rendered with Arnold/Redshift so i can then put a displacement over the splash following the uvs as it splashes
