  • Animating & adjusting sliders within 'Particle Tuner' 'Edit Condition'

Hi all, I am having issues solving this on my own so making a thread.

I’m wanting to animate the Random Range of the Particle Tuner so it deletes the particles at a progressive rate that changes over time and is controllable after I lay in initial keyframes.

The shot is showing glacial flow – the deleted particles are to have the glacier melt at a certain rate, then at a certain point the melt is stronger than the glacial flow and it recedes completely.
Currently I can animate the sliders, but do not see the keyframes anywhere (not in curve editor, or track view) I do see them in the Dope Sheet, but cannot adjust anything other than the keyframe placement in time. They seem invisible and locked out - not sure how to access them to modify curves or timing.

What I’d love to do is see & control the keyframes that are in the Random Between in the timeline area where normal keyframes are usually populated. But would be happy to wire the parameters to another object so control it from another object – however I cannot expose the proper parameters. I only have access to the default first parameters of the Particle Tuner, not the parameters inside of Edit Condition.

I took a screenshot & marked it up with notes, and uploaded the maxfile down saved from 2024 to 2021.
Notes on the image should explain the issue, but it might be confusing – basically I want to be able to edit these invisible keyframes.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

I recreated the scene on another machine and I can see the keyframes in the curve editor.
So this must be user error and bad filter settings for curve editor... Apologies.

Looks like the Filter of 'Selected Objects' was filtering out my animated Particle Tuner keys (as usually I only want to adjust what I have selected).
But with the Particle Tuner it doesn't populate the data, so uncheck selected objects and the keys should show up...
I'd still love to be able to see the keyframes in the timeline though, so it's quicker to get to the time & value adjustments, but I can at least get it working now.
