Best Practices For Animating Steps Per Frame?

Hey all,

I was just wondering if there's any best practices or things I should keep in mind when animating the steps per frame value. I've often found it can really aid simulation time if I have things that are slow moving for a long time before a fast moving thing, to animate the SPF only as things start moving quickly. I'm just wondering, is this bad practice? Is it a good idea but something that should be used carefully or in a certain way? Would love to know people's thoughts.

It's a totally valid workflow to animate the steps. There is nothing specific really, the way you have described it sounds good.
