  • Particle Shader motion blur

Is there something extra to set for VRay motion blur to work with the ParticleShader? Camera motion blur works, but no blur is applied if that is unchecked and "motion blur" only is checked..
    I'm using a VRayDomeCamera.

    Hello,

Does the particle system you're rendering with the Particle shader have a velocity channel?
The particle system that will be rendered needs the velocity channel in order to render with motion blur.

If you have a velocity channel but still can't see the motion blur - how about if you increase the motion blur multiplier a few times?

It's a TyFlow system. I looked around for some kind of velocity channel setting but couldn't find one.
      The particle interface is enabled.

Seems to be working correctly on our side.

Can you send over the scene through support.chaos.com (submit a request at top right) so that we can check what is going on?

        Thanks!

          Thanks. I've attached a file.
Please render a frame towards the end.

Also do you know why particles around the fisheye horizontal are darkened?

Thanks a lot for the scene.

In your case the motion blur is not showing up as you're using the Particle Shader in Point mode and your Motion blur step is way too large.
If you lower the Motion Blur step in the Particle Shader options to something like 0.3 for example you will see the motion blur. You can find more about the options here - https://docs.chaos.com/display/PHX4M...er-PointPoints

The points mode is a bit special as they are treated as pixel-sized and they will depend on the Image Output resolution from the Render Settings and the distance to the camera. My guess is this is why you get some darker spots.

How about if you use bubbles instead of Points?

Thanks. Motion Blur Step works great.
I don't use bubbles because as they approach the camera they get too big and don't give the impression of "dust".

The darkness around the horizontal plane of the fisheye camera I don't think is distance. It's there even if you put the camera in the middle of a sphere of particles.
It's because of some property of the fisheye camera?
