  • looping the simulator playback

    Hi!

Would somebody know if there is a way to make a simulator playback loop?

Lets say i have a 200 frames simulation and i want to loop from frame 50 to frame 100.

So i always have those 50 frames running and can make the render.

With the parameters i see in the input playback, im not sure its possible?

    Thx.

    Jay.

you can use the "anim. index" option to construct any input sequence giving which frame to be loaded at any animation time. of course this does not solve the problem with the blending, that is the hardest part of the whole task. one possible solution is to use two instances, to export them into texture, to blend them using compositing texture, and to use third instance redirected to this texture as final shader. it's hard and slow, so will be good if you find two frames in the sequence that are similar and to use them as a "seam".

Man great support you have in here. Priceless to have all these open discussions with the developers and fast replies.

So, im not sure i understand your workaround tough.

Anim.index is basically this: you tell him lets say frame 5 and its gonna display the 5th frame of the simulation for all the frames when you press play. (thats it right?)

By two instances you mean two instanced simulators?

you can animate this "index", su you can specify for each frame which cache to be used

Hmmm i tought this slider was'nt animatable for some reasons. :P

Thats great, should do the trick!

          Thx.

Well just tried it and it work like a charm!

Lots of control so you can build customs sequences....amazing!
