  • pouring liquid passing through pouring mesh

Alright i think i saw something like this in another post but cant seem to find it again.

So i have a big bucket that i fill up by emitting from the bottom polygon.

Then the bucket is animated to pour the liquid. Problem is, there's always liquid passing through the mesh at some places when it move.

Cranked the SPF lower limit to 20 wich is the maximum and it seem to help a little but not completely. And its way longer to calculate.

The animation of the bucket is'nt that fast neither so i wonder why it has a hard time updating to keep the fluid inside?

    Thx.

    Jay.

never tried this solution, but i'm quite sure you can solve this problem moving the grid simultaneously with the bucket, be sure that "wind from movement" is switched on. the easiest way is to make the simulator node child of the bucket. in this case the whole movement of the liquid will be produced by the "wind", there will be no recalculation of the grid, no need to keep small advection step/high spf value, and the whole calculation should be much faster. here i see one possible problem - the embedded gravity is always directed along the grid z axis, and if you bucket does not keep the orientation, the above mentioned solution will not work. fortunately the release was delayed and i can put a hidden option to choose the direction of the embedded gravity.

      We need multithreaded wind
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?
