Is there a way to map an image to smoke, foam or liquid directly in Phoenix?

  • #2
not sure how to understand the question. the smoke shader has texture slots, the liquid uses the assigned material, the foam does not have mapping, except those used for coloring.

Liquid doesn't seem to be mapped. by image I meant a picture that melts or blows away.

so a way to use camera mapping onto the smoke at a specified frame then the smoke dissipates along with the image

I'm trying to decide if I need to buy Krakatoa.

You can get trial license. But, don't forget, that particles, generated by phx are quite xpensive, in terms of hdd space
Direct conversion of grid to krakatoa particles is not possible. For now.
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

Did you generate your incredible example with a PhoenixFD birth in pF?

Nop. Just phx particles. Check PHXSource particles. You should monitor the amount via the input panel.

Thanks Paul. I tried to modify the multicolor sample, but the smoke turns to white.

How does one invoke the PHXmapper?
