  • Gas Turbine Flame

I'm still trying to get my Phoenix FD legs, so please bear with me. Unfortunately, my RnD time is only when under fire to get something done quickly. Pun intended.

I did a simple gas turbine combustion chamber flame. Now, I need to take that simulation and make the flame appear bigger and more violent while maintaining the same physical size in Max. So an example would be like taking a candle flame, then making it look like a large violent flame.

Does that make any sense. Words seems to be escaping me today.

Maybe increase the discharge rate or(and?) increase the temperature, and up the vorticity slightly to make it slightly more violent.

Thanks Cubicle! It was the vorticity that did the trick. I had to turn up to about 4 and it got me close enough for the mockup.

if you are using the nightly builds, the last 2 months the vorticity was about four times lower than usual. it was restored the last week, and now is like it was before.

I am not on the nightly builds, yet.

I was using a much higher discharge rate and so things were not reacting the same as my other simulations. I look forward to my next break, when I can sit down and really dig into Phoenix and really learn what all these different settings do and how they all work together. I'm perpetually stuck in the lets change some settings and see what happens.
