  • Fluid GPU Preview

    Hi,

I just recently started testing Phoenix FD 2.
I noticed that it is very easy to setup the GPU preview for fire and smoke, but I cannot seem to get it done for fluid (water) simulations, for which I enable geometry and solid mode. The GPU preview just stays black.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks for your help.

the preview does not work for water. you can fake it by proper transparency curve, step like with step at temperature 0.5

Ok. So under Rendering, Colors and Transparency, do I need to change the curve under the fire tab to achieve it?
I raised the curve up around what I think is 0,5 and beyond but I only get a yellow screen...

no, disable the fire tab, choose some color in the smoke color tab, and use the smoke density tab to set the step-like curve.
here is a simple setup in the attachment

thanks a lot for the fast replies and the file.
I do get a preview in RT, but not on the Phoenix GPU preview.
            Is that correct?

            EDIT:
Turning off the option "render as mesh" made it available in the GPU preview, turned it off in RT.
