  • Foam at slower time scale?

    Hi Ivaylo

I have done some tests and am finding that when doing slowmo fluids, foam doesn't generate as easily.
I took your beer example at frame 25 +/- 11000 particles.
set time to 0.5 spf to 4. at frame 50 the are now only 7000 particles.

    Does this sound right?
Do I need to adjust the birth threshold. does it have any relation to time scale?

    Thanks
    Gavin

    yes, your observation is correct.
the reason is that when you simulate in slow motion with the same spf the time step decreases and the liquid becomes smoother, it's the same as if you increase the spf.
do not change the birthrate or any other particular parameter, you can introduce a general correction changing the spf parameter in the same direction as the time scale, in other words just multiply the original spf with the time scale to obtain the needed slow motion spf that will produce the same result. for example: original spf=8, we need slow motion with timescale=0.25, the new spf must be 8*0.25=2
