Phoenix FD & Vray 3.0

Is Phoenix FD fully functional with VRay 3.0? If not, when will a patch or update for Phoenix become available?

I'm not sure if it's "fully" functional as I have only tried one of my previous scenes with it but it seems to be working with that simple scene.

Only catch is that you need to get one of the more recent nightly builds that are for vray3.0.

I was using the vray3.0 beta and a nightly build of phoenix that was working well with it but when I installed the official vray3.0 release phoenix errored out. I downloaded one of the most recent nightly builds and no problems with vray3.0 and phoenix so far.

Still if you have something that needs to be delivered soon I would not jump in based on my good luck so far since I've hardly scratched the surface with my very simple single frame test. All I know is that I was working as expected once I updated. There could be many issues between the two still hiding.

the nightlies are working with 3.0, the official builds do not support 3.0 because it didn't exist at that time. if you need 3.0 compatibility, ask the support for nightly access

When we use the nightlies, do we have to always install both version of vray and pheonix from the same day? Or can we use official vray 3.00.03 and latest phoenixFD nightly? My problem is with vray licensing. Support is not able to send me a workig rtu for everything that I have so it's may be simpler just to stop intalling beta and work only with officail build. I lost almost 3 days of work since 2 weeks because of licensing problem with beta.

So to resume all: which version of phoenixFD should i install with vray official build 3.00.03?

usually after release of new major version there is no need to install the latest vray nightly, because there is binary compatibility between the service packs and the base version.
there are exceptions, for example vray 2.4 was not compatible with vray 2.0, but this is the only case that i remember. so, download the official vray and if there is a compatibility problem tell us, it shouldn't happen.
