The Ivaylo scene for cube splash R&D?

A request for Ivaylo. Hi Ivaylo,would it be possible to get the scene with the cube R&D splash? I really like this splash and would like to take a look at the settings.

Also I don't have the submarine scene in my sample scene but it is in the sample section of the help file. Would like to see it too.

i will search for the scene, but i'm almost sure that it will produce different result now. this video was made when some features were still in development, of course the same result is fully achievable, but with different values of the settings.
actually there is nothing special. grid with 50M cells, foam patterns , b2b=200 (as i remember) and if split of the splash about 10. not sure about the split, may be is not used. it usually produces fine mist that remains after the normal splash is settled, here i can't see it.

And what about the submarine scene?

Right now i am doing a splash with ocean. But in the viewport the foam is not following the wave displacement. How do you make to foam following th e wave displacement of the ocean?

I found the answer on another thread: "the foam particles are displaced rendertime, if the simulator is put in the liquid slot of the foam shader"

It should work only at render time then. I will resimulate my foam and splash and I will try a render.

I made a render and the foam is still not displaced by the waves even if I choose the simulator in the liquid button of the shader...
By the way it aslo crash pretty often when trying to render. I have two different scenes with phoenix and they crash 1 time out of 3 when I try to render. One is with ocean and the other one is just a simulator.

Finally it works. When I render the whole animation we can see the foam is really following the waves. The first frame I rendered was just misleading.

about the submarine scene - we have replaced it with the ship scene, but if you want it, we can provide it.
but you have to make one additional change - in the 2.1 the "reynolds factor" was set to 1 internally. later we switched it off due to some conflicts with more common situations and in 1.1 the thin liquid layers do not produce splash. the submarine sample requires lot of splash birth at the front of the vessel, and you have to set the reynolds factor to 1 or even more to have them.

I was wondering what this reynolds factor is exactly as it doesn't appear in you ship in ocean scene, if I'm not wrong.

reynolds factor was added relatively late, it is not used in the ship in ocean scene.
it is one of the few parameters that do not use physically correct default value. the physically correct value is 1, the parameter is actually a multiplier for the real reynolds laminar flow criterion that is about 2000-4000.
the default value is zero, that means no splash is born in the thin moving layers. we decided to use zero instead 1, because in the most cases the users need splash born by the waves, and the birth of splash near the walls will be surprising and undesired.
