I wonder if it would be possible to diplace just part of an object with a phoenixFd simulation. For example i have a cereal bowl and I modeled the milk surface to climb a bit on the cereal and i want to have control on the mesh to make it look perfect in macro, but then i want a drop of milk to fall in the bowl so I would like to be able to add the wave motion on top of my milk surface. In fact exactly in the way we can add a splash on a ocean surface but i want to use a regular mesh instead of the ocean.

not sure that understand your idea, but if you need to use a simulation to displace regular geometry, try with the velocity field and vray displacement in vector mode. you have to modify it using vraycomp texture, because the vray displacement assumes that gray (0.5,0.5,0.5) is no displacement, actually you have to add this value to the velocity field.______________________________________________
