    Why do you need to use the Maya mesh? This option was provided mostly if you need to do some Maya dynamics with it. The plane may work, but probably not good enough. This was the reason Ivaylo Katev implemented this "Ocean" option.

      Only with Maya mesh i can use/render PhoenixFDOceanTexture with displacement, my problem is to extend the ocean "outside" the grid in the simulator.

        And what is the issue with Static/Dynamic mesh? They were implemented exactly for that reason.
