  • Phoenix GPU preview - render to PNG without simulating?

    Hey all.

I cannot say enough how awesome the GPU preview is, and how super cool it is that it stores an awesome looking PNG sequence with alpha when simulating. For background stuff, this preview render is even good enough for production! (You can just slap it on a background 3D plane in 3dsmax or Nuke, and you're good to go directly after simming, without spending a second rendering)

However, if you want to tweak render settings such as smoke and fire curves, it would be cool if you could render it out again without simming.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks,
    - Jonas

yes it is, the "save" button in the gpu control panel does exactly this
you can select the sequence range with the numbers right to the button, and to break the rendeting with escape.
