  • Import Nparticles in to the sim

    Hi,

Is it possible to import nparticles in the a phoenix sim.
I am have some nparticles sim that I need to convert to a mesh and I was wondering if I could convert them in voxel in a phoenix sim, to then create the mesh. Maya mesher for nparticles is pretty awful.

    Thanks

Is it in V3 by any chance?
I am using 2.4 and I don't think it is there.

        yes, you are right.
well, you can try with the particle texture included in phoenix. it can generate texture from particle system and if you put this texture as surface channel, you can get the particles meshed.

Hi Are you able to make a small sample scene (in Maya).
I not sure how to make the link between the partille and particle texture.

            Thanks,

You put the particle systems in a set like for the metaballs. Here is the help: http://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/V...RayParticleTex

Thanks for that but there isn't any Phoenix node in your scene.
Is this a Vray 3 scene showing the meta balls? I don't have vray 3...

                    Cheers,

The particle texture for the Maya version is in V-Ray, not in Phoenix FD. However, I don't think connecting the texture to the surface will work with the mesher (at least in Maya).
