  • multiple fountains in pool

I'm trying to create a long rectangular, shallow pond with 4 fountains. The fountains have a particular form (for which I've made a torus-like shape into which the water is sprayed, creating the shape I need, so that seems to be working) but I can't get the fountain grid to react with the pool grid. I've watched the wine pouring tutorial but must be missing something. (1) Could I get some assistance with the scene below?

Ideally the fountain would react with the pool surface, including foam/splashes. I need 4 fountains and they don't necessarily need to be unique so (2) is there a way to run 1 fountain sim, then have that solution load into the other 3 fountains and have all 4 interact with the pool?

Also, with multiple grids, does it matter which you select to run the calc - sometimes all grids simulate while other times only 1 grid simulates...again I must be missing something.

    Thanks in advance folks!

in general the strategy here is to make the fountains non solid sources that affect only the velocity of the pool. you can use the water and the splash particles either. to prevent backward interference, the fountains must not interact with the pool. the best way to manage this is to use include list interaction mode and to put there only the water source geometry and helper.
