  • ships in water simulation.

    Hi,

I'm doing a simulation of 3 ships of various sizes moving in the ocean over 300 frames. What is the most efficient way of doing this?

    1. Is it easier to make 3 small simulators. one for each ship? Can I simulate each one separately and then render then at same time without killing my PC?
    2. Or is it better to make one big sim?
    3. Also when I render with infinite ocean can I use my own custom shader with maps and all for white caps and general foam? This was discussed a lot in my last post on this forum.

    Thanks guys!

    Hello,

Indeed, it will be best to split it into several sims, otherwise you will need tons of extra memory. To render this composition, one of the simulators must be set to Ocean mode, so that it will generate the ocean mesh, and the rest must be set to Cap (only the top surface of the water will be meshed). Give the custom shader a try and if anything's wrong, we'll investigate.
