Mixing paints sample file in Phoenix fd 2

Hello, is there an easy way of getting the paint mixing to work in the old paint files from FD1 to FD2? Or a tutorial that covers this? The old file doesn't work anymore and I'm not sure how to fix it. I never did fully understand what made this work which I think is why I can't seem to fix it.

Or... how would I go about creating this with fd2?

Making the old sample work is not that hard, but will require one to know how the scene works anyway, so here is the tutorial (the latest one):
