Me too. Might the vray build(3.10.03) I'm using have something to do with it? Where does one find nightly builds? Do I even have access?

you have to ask the support for the nightly build access.
i think we can try to render your scene here. you can ask the support how to transfer the cache file and the scene, it's possible that not the subdivisions are the problem.
