would it be possible to post a simple scene that creates ocean swells that break? (no inclined beach). i been trying iterations for days using a variety of settings and 'push' methods and either get water that leaps forward violently (from a pushing box) or waves that dissipate and never reach the other side of the box. i've tried downloading an older test scene called coast.max to at least get breaking waves however it sims no movement. thx guys!

Hi, recently I did a beach waves type of sim, to test the flip solver. It's not exactly the type of sim you're trying to achieve, but at least will give you an idea of how to get breaking waves.
This is pretty low res sim, so to get more defined wave breaking, you'll need to increase the resolution.
Hope that helps!

Hey Ivaylo,
could you explain the workflow for your stormy ocean 3?
Especially how or where to implement the dirtmap for mist creation.
Thanks a lot!

the mist is created naturally by the simulation, it's not map based. the difference between this scene and the original one is the air simulation, here we have wind that interacts with the mist created on the wave crest and takes it away.______________________________________________

Hi,
I am trying to get the mist moving, hoping for something similiar to your example - but Phoenix Plain Force doesn't seem to work well for the wind.
Neither does a wave force. I set Affect to "Mist" for both. I also tried to set it to "Splashes" only, which did not help produce the desired effect..
So could you please clarify what is the correct way to set up an "air simulation"?
Thanks mucho.

Hello,
here it is, simple set-up. Despite the directional force, the mist seems unaffected.
I would be glad if you could give a hint, where the mistake is.Attached Files
