  • How to make the sim slow motion and look the same?

Hi! I have a simulation that I like and I want it to happen in slow motion, but when I lower the scale time to let's say .1 the result is absolutely different. If my steps per frame were 10 at regular speed, do I have to reduce to 1 step per frame of the speed scale is .1?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Indeed, the time scale changes the simulation quit a lot. Reducing the SPF is correct, but there still might be differences.

Depending on your simulation type - if it's a fire/smoke sim, the right way is to use Time Bend Resimulation. If it's a liquid sim with the FLIP solver, this is yet to be implemented there.

the timescale change keeps the sim only if the spf is changed with the same ratio, that is impossible if the original simulation is made with spf=1.
in this case you have two options
      - resimulation with retiming, that is not implemented yet in the flip
      - slow down the playback.
in general, the first method is better, the second one is applicable in rare cases.
