  • Phoenix with VDB works great. How about Houdini engine? (Maya)

Hey guys, we're rendering VDB's via Phoenix with great success, and I was wondering if there was any way to plug in Houdini Engine nodes into Phoenix containers (without having to save out VDB's from Houdini). The standard workflow for Maya/Houdini engine builds Maya fluid containers to display/render volume data, is there was any way to get that same functionality direct into Phoenix without exporting VDB's?

I'm guessing that we will have to add some of the options of the VRayVolumeGrid plugin to the fluid containers, or else be able to wire a fluid container to a VRayVolumeGrid plugin as the source of the data. Will have to look into it.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

Thanks Vlado. Ya, ultimately it would be great if we could avoid using a Maya fluid container at all. I'll be stoked to see if you guys can come up with something..!
