Flip core comparison

I've not downloaded the latest nightly yet but is there any documentation or discussion on the flip core and the benefits of using it ?

Is it a quicker sim method ?

the main advantage is the better result, the speed is similar, in some cases is bigger.
see the attachment, the scene is simulated with both the cores and the difference is clearly visible
