  • uvw pass for smoke into maya

    Hi,

Just wondering if someone never try to render a UVW pass (not uv) into maya for a smoke effect ?

I can get a weird uv pass when I change the render mode in volumetric geometry. but I have some negatives values. And it doesn't look like a proper uv pass...

Does any one knows the workflow for the uvw pass ?

    Thanks

You mean the UVW map in the source? This is quite old feature that was somewhat deprecated.

I was just thinking a way to have an uv pass for the fluid in order to map a texture in comp. I know it's possible to do that into houdini, I was just wondering if there is a similar thing for phoenix...

it was possible in phoenix too, but the uv mapping is not a working solution for fluids, we use the particle texture instead. the uvw channel was renamed to rgb channel and now is used for coloring, not for mapping.
