  • Phoenix Smoke interacting with emitter object

    Hi!
I'm trying to create smoke in the middle of my scene, behind some doors. The doors open in my scene and the smoke moves exactly how I wont it to however the smoke is outlining the shape of my basic cube emitter object. I have the emitter object set as not a solid object under the Phoenix object properties and I have render turned off on the object. I thought the next step would be to add the emitter object to the exclude list under object interaction but when I do this, I don't get any smoke produced at all.

Any suggestions on how I can produce smoke that moves through the emitter object as if it isn't there?

    Thank you!

    Hello,

Just setting it as a non-solid will be all. Are you using a nightly build? If so, make sure the source is in volume brush or volume inject mode, not in surface force.

If you've checked those and it still doesn't behave as expected, could you share a screen or a video of what it looks like?

      Thank you Svetlin!
I've got it working now with non-solid and volume inject mode. I tried that before but thought it was messing up by producing so much smoke but I understand now that inject mode uses the whole volume of the emitter object, not just the surface like surface force.

      Thank you again!
