  • PhoenixFD 2015?

    Hi the release notes for build 2.25.01 Nightly Build ID: 1604056718 notes:

    phoenix FD/Max - Change Log

    Phoenix FD/Max - 3.0
    =======================================

    Version of 2015

    [General] Port the prt loader to the phoenix standalone - resolved.
    [bug] wrong rendering with DR when interpolated frames are involved - resolved. Etc etc etc.....

    Still when I load the plugin and go to the about, it says version 2.25.01 is this waht you call PhoenixFD 3?

    Or there is a sepparate download for that V3?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    The last official Phoenix was 2.20 and at ChaosGroup we have a convention that nightlies are designated with a 5 appended to the version, so 2.25 are the nightlies following the official 2.2 release. These nightlies are going to become Phoenix 3.0 at some point in the future. The changelog has not been updated for a while though - we have been transitioning between internal systems and the log is quite outdated. We'll try to get it working and up-to-date in the coming weeks.

    Cheers!

        Almost It will become V3 when we release it officially, until then, it's just some WIP version between 2.2 and 3. Examples will be ready when the time comes for the new version and will ship together with it - right now they will get outdated while things keep changing. Same goes for the help file - there is a more polished version being compiled, but it won't be made visible until the new version comes out. Right now the help buttons from the nightly Phoenix's panels point to the nightly help, where the fire/smoke are mostly up-to-date, but the liquid part is not: http://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/P220N

        Basically, we have to get the changelog up-and-running, so that one can at least get a clue about what's going on - I hope this will happen soon
